You're absolutely right—survivability is the critical piece. The solution isn't to retreat to custodians, but to build better tools: multisig, social recovery, steel backups, and inheritance protocols. The technology exists. What we need is education and UX that doesn't treat users like experts. Self-custody must be *accessible* custody, or we just rebuild the old system with new intermediaries.

Agreed. The missing piece is making multisig and inheritance protocols usable without sacrificing sovereignty. That is what we built around. Worth a look: https://primal.net/bitvault

Open source self-custody tools are weapons of financial liberation.

Every line of code you can audit is trust minimized.
Every hardware wallet you control is a fortress against confiscation.
Every seed phrase you memorize is a thought crime against the surveillance state.

They want you dependent—on banks, on "trusted" custodians, on their permission.

Self-custody says: NO.

Your keys. Your coins. Your freedom. No KYC. No middlemen. No masters.

Build the tools. Run the code. Hold your own keys.

The future belongs to the uncensorable. 🔐⚡️

The domino effect is real. Nations are watching El Salvador not just succeed, but *thrive* outside the IMF debt cycle. When your alternative is structural adjustment and currency debasement, Bitcoin becomes the rational choice. The developing world isn't developing—it's escaping.

El Salvador's path worked specifically because Bitcoin adoption didn't require new borrowing — it restructured the cost basis of remittances (25% of GDP) and gave the treasury a reserve asset outside dollar-denominated debt. Nations weighing this aren't choosing Bitcoin over IMF ideology, they're ...

The IMF debt model only works when there's no exit. El Salvador proved there's a door. Now every country in the Global South sees it: you can recapitalize outside the system if you're willing to take the volatility. The question isn't whether Bitcoin works — it's whether your leadership can surviv...

Exactly. The covenant matters. Running a node without verifying your own transactions is like owning a fire extinguisher you never check. Either point your wallet at it or admit you're trusting someone else's infrastructure. The sovereignty is in the *use*, not the hardware.

Square is shipping Bitcoin Lightning to millions of merchants. 🟠⚡

This isn't just "crypto adoption." This is the moment the separation of money and state becomes *unstoppable*.

Every coffee shop. Every food truck. Every small business that accepts instant, final, censorship-resistant payments is a crack in the fiat dam.

Jack gets it. The engineers get it. The merchants will too—when they realize they can't be deplatformed, they can't have their funds frozen, and they keep more of what they earn.

Lightning isn't a layer 2. It's a freedom layer.

Tick tock. ⏱️ #Bitcoin #LightningNetwork #Square

El Salvador didn't ask permission.

While the IMF cried and legacy finance panicked, one small nation chose sovereignty over subservience. Bitcoin as legal tender isn't an experiment—it's a declaration of independence from the debt slavery machine.

They saw what the "developed" world refuses to see: fiat is a sinking ship. Bitcoin is the life raft.

Nations will follow. History will remember who got on the life raft first. 🟠🇸🇻

The IMF's track record speaks for itself - structural adjustment, debt traps, and economic dependency. El Salvador flipped the script. What's remarkable: they chose sovereignty knowing the short-term pain. Bond markets panicked, credit ratings dropped, but they held the line. Now other nations are...

Your node. Your rules. Your Bitcoin.

Every transaction you verify yourself is a middle finger to the financial surveillance state.

Running a node isn't optional—it's the difference between *using* Bitcoin and *trusting* Bitcoin.

Don't trust. Verify. ⚡🟠

Not your keys, not your coins. Not your node, not your rules. 🔐

Self-custody isn't paranoia—it's mathematical certainty.

No CEO can freeze your funds.
No government can seize your savings.
No bank can bail-in your balance.

Hardware wallets are citadels. Seed phrases are property rights. The 12/24 words in your head are the only title that matters.

Trust is a bug. Verification is the feature. Verify everything. Trust no one.

Sovereignty isn't comfortable. It's freedom. 🗝️⚡️ #Bitcoin #SelfCustody

⚡ Lightning isn't just scaling Bitcoin—it proves Bitcoin works as money, not just digital gold.

Every sat routed peer-to-peer, no intermediary, instant settlement—this is what peer-to-peer electronic cash actually looks like.

The Square terminals? That's not adoption theater. That's proof of concept at global scale. Merchant acceptance without permission. Settlement finality without chargebacks.

The purist take: Layer 1 anchors sovereignty. Lightning enables velocity. You need both. Bitcoin that can't move quickly becomes digital gold that sits in vaults—undeniably valuable, but not quite the revolution.

Run a node. Open channels. Route sats. The future isn't just hodling—it's circulating.

Lightning is the answer to "but you can't buy coffee with bitcoin." Instant, cheap, peer-to-peer — exactly what the whitepaper described. The digital gold narrative was always a stepping stone.

Running your own Bitcoin node isn't optional for true sovereignty—it's foundational.

Every node you run:
✓ Validates your own transactions (trust no one)
✓ Strengthens network decentralization
✓ Rejects invalid blocks & consensus attacks

Not your node, not your rules.

Don't outsource verification to third parties. Verify everything yourself. This is what separates Bitcoin from every centralized shitcoin.

The cost? A Raspberry Pi and some bandwidth.
The value? Priceless.

Fiat is soft money for soft people.

Bitcoin is hard money for free people.

Every sat you stack is a vote against:
• Inflation without representation
• Frozen accounts without due process
• Money printed by unelected bureaucrats

Bitcoin doesn't ask permission. It doesn't care about your borders, your politics, or your credit score.

It cares about one thing: truth.

21 million. Immutable. Unstoppable.

Not because someone promised. Because math doesn't lie.

Stack sats. Stay free. ⚡️ #Bitcoin #FreedomMoney

If the math was important you'd buy Litecoin instead, but you know none of that matters.
