The Church has always remained closest to the vulnerable - the poor, the sick, the abandoned, the prisoners, the elderly, the orphaned, and the forgotten. This is because at the heart of the Gospel is love for the human person, especially the weakest among us

Beloved, please don’t let those killed in Nigeria become just another number.

Behind every death is a family.
A father who will not come home.
A mother whose children will not hear her voice again.
A child now growing up without a parent.
A home with an empty chair.

Some went to bed expecting a normal day and woke up to gunshots and grief.
Some widows wonder how to feed their children tomorrow.
Some communities are still burying their loved ones while the world has moved on.

I know these stories can feel far away.
But in Christ we are one body. “If one part suffers, every part suffers with it.” 1 Corinthians 12:26
And Scripture calls us: “Mourn with those who mourn.” Romans 12:15

So today I mourn with them.
And I ask you to mourn with them too.

*Please pray for Nigeria:*
For the widows and orphans.
For the wounded and grieving.
For communities living in fear.
For peace and justice in our land.

To every family that has buried someone: we have not forgotten you.
To every child who has lost a parent: you are not forgotten.

May God comfort the brokenhearted, protect the innocent, and bring peace to Nigeria.
Please remember them in your prayers tonight.

Heavenly Father,
As the day comes to an end, we thank You for Your goodness, Your protection, and Your love that carried us through.

Forgive us for where we fell short today, and wash us with Your grace.
Cover us tonight with the blood of Jesus. Let no harm, fear, or evil come near us.

Give rest to our bodies, peace to our minds, and joy to our hearts.
Watch over our families, our friends, and those who are hurting.
“In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.” Psalm 4:8

We surrender tomorrow to You. Order our steps and let Your will be done.

I was with a brother today who passed on to be with the Lord. Even in his final hours, he was filled with joy at the thought of meeting Him.
Just before he went, he looked at me and asked, “Please, can you join me to worship the Lord before I transition?”
I gladly did. We worshipped together until he peacefully passed into the presence of God.
It was a holy reminder to me: live in such a way that your last breath is worship.

A Word for Reflection
Have you wondered about the day of your last breath? Are you ready for that transition? Will it be a beautiful testimony of finishing well?

May we all live in such a way that our transition brings glory to God.
Remember: you will not be on this earth forever. Live a life today that you will be glad you lived when you come to the end.

As you begin this new day, may God guide your steps in the right path and bless the work of your hands🙏🏿

You died Jesus, but the source of life gushed forth for souls, and the ocean of mercy opened up for the whole world. O Fount of Life, unfathomable Divine Mercy, envelope the whole world and empty yourself out upon us. Amen.
