@nprofile1q... @nprofile1q... Damn paywall kept me from reading it in the airport.

I think specs are fine for a group of devs. Certainly doesn't hurt to write, but they never stood out to me as worth being a best practice. Feels like a placebo to me, and science says a placebo can be effective. πŸ€”

Great PyCon US. Even six days isn't enough to see and talk to everyone, but I certainly tried.

Do you know whether extensive Opus work looking for vulnerabilities in CPython or Django have been run? Putting Mythos aside, Opus is very good at this. I'd be interested to know whether it found anyt...

@nprofile1q... At least two of our DSF Fellows have access to Claude Code and Opus, but not Mythos. To my knowledge, it hasn't been used to find anything yet. We have applied for access, though, and I'd like to see what comes out of it.

The overall temperature has changed significantly in our security reports. Where they were mostly bullshit/noise a few months ago, lately they are much higher quality, but it's still a lot to go through, and they seem more like textbook issues than stop-everything.

A++ content. I was in a call with @nprofile1q... and @nprofile1q... this week, where this topic came up again.

We looked, and I thought Django's package size was 200M bigger than it actually is. Django is only 10.9 MB compressed, which is within ~1 MB of SQLAlchemy, which is kind of impressive to think about.

So running the Django ORM doesn't quite have the same mental tax as I have assumed all of these years.
