This thought is just more False Choice Fallacy Propaganda. I choose not to choose one of two polar extremes because I'm thoughtful. Economic individualism is bullshit that seems to only be pushed by those who are capable of defending themselves with violence.

Have you ever considered an Affinity Group?A large family, small community or a neighborhood are examples of an Affinity Group. All members of an Affinity Group know at least the reputation of all others in the group. This is natural to humanity.

How I'm thinking is just use the technology already in use with bank notes an their anti counterfeiting measures.

Pro: We all can effortlessly audit the amount of BTC held in an address. (Thought we can't know the paper supply in circulation).

Con: State sanctioned notes use state violence and threat of prison to deter counterfeiting.
