@nprofile1q... not a lot of any, but that also means that if consumer specs stagnate they won’t have as much “room to spare”, OS are becoming bloated, people have a lot of stuff open, we’ve been having HW specs growing rapidly so far
Can't remember where I read RAM/GPU shortage/price increases could cause high-fidelity games (or poorly optimized ones) to have HW-restrictions, but yes unless something drastically reverses this, majority of users can't upgrade, and squeezing performance would be king. https://www.pcgamesn.com/steam/hardware-survey-march-2026
can't quite put my finger on it but something is off with "Find in files" and overall search feature in the new Rider 2026.1 update. the results don't seem to match what they used to. might be placebo effect though.

Nintendo got their “summoning characters to make them battle” patent revoked. I love Nintendo but this is a win for the industry as a whole.

it’s pretty obvious why there hasn’t been a 3D Mario since 2017, Mario’s been busy shooting 2 movies almost back to back. Donkey Kong had to step in for Bananza. Mario kart World only happened because we see his back most of the time so it’s a stunt character.
thank the coding gods! web tech for making desktop apps is a mistake and I’m glad Microsoft is hopefully addressing this

@nprofile1q... when there’s no other way I guess. At school/uni the artists classes for example were always powered by pirated photoshop copies, no one could afford it but it was a requirement, and the tool was (and is) the most used professional. I know many who then moved to buying it once they got a job.
