@nprofile1q... It's a difficult time and I fear we won't stop this illegal sh*t that Trump, the AI techbros and other flaunt. Those systems are broken and politicians and such seem shockingly ok with it, as long as they're profiting. It drives me crazy too.

We absolutely need to keep calling BS on this.

@nprofile1q... Unlike some people, I am less prone to see things as black and white, binary absolutes, because reality is often too messy for that. I do have good friends that see everything as binary though. :)

And you're absolutely correct about under-regulated (or worse) capitalism and poor educational standards, unfortunately. :\

@nprofile1q... Those stands are a lot harder when you're trying to feed your family and such.

I'm no longer in a DC team as I once was, but I'm very glad I don't have to decide between that and keeping a roof over my head.

Also many of the construction workers, trench diggers, and others like them I know are barely tech-savvy enough to manage a text or email. It's hard to imagine they spend a lot of time doing expert thinking about the philosophical issues behind AI and Data Centers.

He also has his own homemade seismometer! http://www.ocrg.org/W7KKE/seismograph/seismo.html I don't think that is uploaded anywhere though, not sure.

He used to fly into hurricanes for in a Prowler in his Navy days as part of their research and WX.

@vitalis This is believable.

There used to be a guy in a small town hear us that was known for riding his bicycle down off the sidewalk to the start of a long trail, then he'd splash himself with a water bottle and proceed to walk his bike back up to the sidewalk. He'd then ride the half a block to a coffee house where he would hang out like he'd just finished another epic morning ride. ๐Ÿ˜‚
