The Coldcard debacle is a nuclear truth bomb here to once again remind us there is no “they”.

Bitcoiners watch NPCs blindly follow authority and take no agency. Yet here we are doing the same thing. Trusting the “experts”.

When we realize nobody is in control, we can’t believe it. We ask questions like “how could the experts have been so dumb?” and “was this a conspiracy the whole time?”.

Then the pitchforks come out demanding “accountability”. Hoping for a savior to destroy the villain, when neither of those characters exist.

The only real thing is us. Our agency. Our knowledge. Our action.

Responsibility is the price we pay for freedom. So it’s no surprise that the best tool we’ve ever had to secure freedom demands unrelenting responsibly.

We’re like cavemen discovering fire right now.

Our flaw of ego runs deep and Bitcoin will keep humbling us until we learn the lesson.

There is no “they”. Only us.

My heart goes out to everyone affected by the Coldcard black swan. Can’t even imagine.

Bitcoiners will get harder, stronger, and more resilient as a result.

Stay paranoid. Never trust.

And fuck the banks. We’re not going back.

Lately I’ve heard so many people near retirement age say something along the lines of “I don’t even know what I would do” as they keep postponing “retirement”.

The fantasy they were sold completely brainwashed them in the process.

Human beings turned into human doings.
