according to stats.nostr.band - nostr has roughly 10k "trusted pubkeys" as active users.

but there are another 40k pubkeys writing events on average.

what is a trusted pubkey and how do we know how many people are actually using nostr?

there doesnt seem to be much activity on the protocol. i can't see anything. One nostr diehard friend of mine said that nostr is dead and gave up on it. are we missing something here?

This is the problem. We do not have anything that a layman can use. Everything requires significant buy in from the user. Why isn't this commercialised yet?
