I'd like to raise funds for portable MP3 Bible players for rural church communities in Guatemala. I served this community while on mission in 2025. These $13 rechargeable players allow them to hear Scripture, hymns, and sermons while in the fields and at their homes. I’m hoping to send a shipment of devices for a July mission trip. Fresh nettle and fresh basil blended together the same way you would make normal pesto! There are so many variations you can use lots of different plant/herbs, but always basil as a base. My absolute favorite is garlic scape pesto 😋

Black soldier fly eat almost anything and grow really fast. You could feed sea scraps and compost to them and innards of butchered things. You could possibly raise rabbits off seaweed type things but I'm unsure. The BSF can then be fed to the quail or chickens and then the eggs can be eaten. I currently like quail because they can be confined easier and having a male for breeding doesn't take as much feed.

I would think black soldier fly larvae, rabbits and quail would play some part in the food production. Also fodder trees that are high in protein like mulberry and hybrid willow. It will start to look mad Max real quick. Haha I've thought about it quite a bit and wonder why people don't just try to live on or under the sea vs in space.

Yeah, I just didn't say it cuz people would already be thinking it. There's also potentially ³H from seawater for fusion power, and the estimates for how much is there are wrong because the concentration changes at depth, and you wouldn't be mining the average.

If pickling cat tails ensure you peel down to the soft inner part BEFORE canning. The outer part does not soften when processing. Was like chewing in hard corn husk. Once peeled to center it was rather enjoyable. I water bath canned for 10 minutes. One jar didn't seal and after realizing how tough they were I pressure canned the jar for 2 minutes and it wasn't any softer. #pickling #wildedible #canning #fail
