We hear your urgency. We share it. The climate crisis demands fast, decisive action. That's what we're doing. We’ve made a legally binding commitment to become climate-neutral by 2050. We’ve already adopted laws to cut emissions by at least 55% by 2030 and we’ve now proposed a new 2040 target: a 90% reduction in net emissions compared to 1990. We're acting with clear targets, binding laws, and massive investment to drive the clean transition forward and protect our planet for future generations.

You're right, tackling climate change is one of the biggest challenges of our time, and we are acting. We've made the Green Deal our roadmap to become the first climate-neutral continent by 2050. We’ve set binding targets in EU law, put in place legislation to reduce emissions by at least 55% by 2030, and proposed a 90% reduction by 2040. Almost €400 billion in EU funding is supporting green investments. The clean transition isn’t easy, but we committed to delivering it.
