EcoBitz recycling team is on the move.
Last Saturday we held a coordinated community clean-up with support from the neighbourhood Mitaboni Visionaries and powered by Bitcoin. We covered just a few walk ways where plastic papers and discarded glass bottles had taken over. I could notice the local community taking interest in the exercise, some came to the Bitcoin hub, got information about the whole initiative, some asked what Bitcoin was but the smart ones asked what they could build with it. The initiative is about showing up, cleaning up the community, getting rewarded with sats, learning how to send and receive Bitcoin, spending the sats peer-to-peer to merchants in the circular economy and saving their value in self-custody. This is a real-time reminder that change doesn't happen overnight, it builds slowly and gradually, until one day the results catch up with the efforts being done of building on sound money. #pow⚡

Bitcoin Nairobi Conference just concluded last Friday in @Afribit Kibera where Bitcoiners walked through the Bitcoin valley, supporting merchants accepting Bitcoin payments and witnessing first hand what life on a Bitcoin standard looks like. Upcycling initiatives displayed their proof-of-work, Upcycled glasses, hand made Art, merchandise, peanut butter and beadwork, as proof that grassroots Bitcoin only initiatives are building without asking for permission.
