It's not about the provider. It's that on-chain just works. Lighning requires, setup, config, management and maintanance. With bitcoin the block chain handles all of this for you.

This is it. It's a fundamental design decision in nostr. It comes with a trade-off. Nostr is more public, but also, more payments-ready.

Great post. Brilliant news that Amethyst now implements this. On-chain payments was always going to be phase 1. A bit of trial-and-error ahead, but it opens countless doors. Next learn about tweaking keys. Add one to your privkey and then add one point to the pubkey and you have a whole new set of keys.
