Sold plenty of my pottery at the Crafted Clay Market here in Perth/Australia last Sunday and offered payment with Cash, Bitcoin and Card.
No one wanted to pay with bitcoin 😭, I would have loved to try that.

I wonder if anyone has thought about using a blockchain system like bitcoin to give people an easier way to vote in a direct democracy.
I do not know much about the programming of blockchain or bitcoin but I am watching a lot of what happens politically in the world. I am following Australian and European politics especially German politics.
The recent gain of the AFD in Sachsen Anhalt pushes to more direct democracy.
In my opinion the political system is changing and people want more accountability from politicians and decision makers and there is s lot of talk about direct democracy like they have in Switzerland. In Australia we have referendums every now and then but beside that the one way of change people have is voting every few years which I think is not enough influence.
Imho we need more ways to proclaim our choice we need power from the bottom up not centralised and top down. So could bitcoin and blockchain be a way to implement this?
The problem is that holding these referendums is always very expensive.
If we in the future could use the crypto technology like blockchain where every transaction is visible and kept for future reference could we not use this system for public voting.
Nowadays everyone has a phone or computer so to vote via phone on any subject would be possible except people should be only able to vote once on any subject and well maybe only citizens of that country.
Unless we vote as one for the whole planet. There is some advantage in this system I just haven’t thought it through enough. I just posted this because someone else might have thought in the same direction and all the bit-coiners here see it more clear, if so then please enlighten me.
