A massive reduction in alcohol intake means I feel much better overall. Unfortunatelly.

Enjoying all those random beers to decompress after the work looks more and more like a negative sum game in life enjoyment. Even when I discount the obvious hangovers (after partying "hard"). It's just a constant debuff in energy and thus also mood/willpower. And because it's constant you stop seeing it for what it really is.

This is a note to myself. I run similar experiment in my mid 20s and subjective results were mostly - a bit less brainfog. Many years later and there is no cure for my brainfarts anymore. But otherwise it's quite worth it if you happen to occupy a middle age body. Let's see what a few mor months of this regime brings.

(This is note to myself.)

But how did the demolition of perfectly good nuclear and state of the art coal power plants helped with resiliency to absorb the shocks?

They faced the energy crisis with a risk of a long term instability, yet they pushed the button anyways. Psychopaths.

Now the instability is deepening and all you hear is "mistakes were made" and shrugs.

New propaganda to push even harder in the same way are being written as we speak.

When I was immigrating to a Latin American country and saw a big office with thousands of paper folders in shelves, I fell in love with it. I'm allergic to e-government services even though I agree t...

Paper might be impractical and time consuming to manage, but (in case you have to live under the state monopoly of violence) it's a feature, not a bug.

It's also the most hack-proof the state will ever be. Yes, you could always run a social attack on an employee to get some info out or in. But you could never make them copy the whole warehouse of files.

The instant digital arrest of a citizen that super connected digiID system allows for is absolutely terrifying, esp. when cash disappears.

The state can "execute" you with a click of a bureacrats finger and the leaked data can be used against you by ever increasing number of actors supercharged by the advance in AI.

Good old inefficient paper stored in building C, section D, row 347, file UOEL539900-05, page 488, paragraph 548908094d.

European countries demolishing their most modern power infrastructure without building a reliable substitution first, right at the time when all the geopolitical structure they've taken for granted cumbles won't ever stop being funny. If you don't live in europe.

"Coordinated strikes have hit all three of Iran’s largest steel plants simultaneously."

Europe including the UK is destroing its steel production for decades.

Russia is destroying Ukrainian steel production capacity.

Now this. Anyone else? Who needs (affordable) steel anyways?

Good thing europe doesn't need to build housing because of demographics. The current young generation is screwed in any case and things are not improving.
