Can Bitcoin fix the world fast enough?
Hmmm, what about the back? I was in the back and couldn't find anything.
I was in one the day that I posted this, there were no mechanical latches to open the door.
Markets are computers; they compute prices, valuations, and the allocation of resources in our society.
Over the top but ok
No what I mean is the fees alone need to be sufficient for the security budget. If tailings are required there's a much bigger problem.
Pretty big fan of Monero actually and I know the codebase inside out becsuse I've spent a LOT of time with it both before and after it forked from Saberhagen's scam. Community is good too.
BUT the Monero crowd harbours a lot of wishful thinking around it being more effective than bitcoin.
Totally disagree about tailings, cool idea but if fees don't rise enough for the security budget it's a dead end anyway.
Last time I bought was a couple of years ago, on the market I was using it was mostly bitcoin.
Bitcoin has already done this and graduated from it. You're not going to fix the world by fixing the money if barely anyone uses it.
It's a byproduct of going mainstream. The cypherpunks get massively diluted.
Monero will never have this problem because it will never go mainstream.
Nah.
Most of the sellers on tor markets I use actually prefer bitcoin. Can always coinjoin it.
If Monero ever becomes as big as bitcoin it will be attacked in the same way, plus a few other ways too. It hasn't been tested yet.
Monero also has infinite inflation.
Real bitcoin is also worth more more because bitcoin is permisisonless but what these organizations hold is permissioned.
By registering with the state and becoming governed by monetary regulation they have negated Bitcoin's entire value proposition.
This is why I have always said that microstrategy doesn't even have a single bitcoin in their custody.
