If anyone is interested this happens when trying to send all my Litecoin from my coinbase non-custodial wallet using the “max” button. It doesn’t appear to factor in network costs. But I had to guess to figure that out.

I don’t know about prickly. This started by my suggested, albeit in a roundabout way, that this platform, whilst technically interesting, requires more non-geeky content to be successful. There are too many crypto echo chambers online imo. The big question for me is “would my girlfriend use it?”. Right now the answer is negative.
