A few months ago I got an idea for a book. A conference was announced and I submitted an abstract and it was accepted. I delivered this lecture on Our Lady of Guadalupe and the unlikely preparation that was already present in the native Mexican/Nahua culture of the 16th century--a longing and a question that found a transformative answer on a little hill outside Tenochtitlan.
