As a result, every generation of the Stern family has been raised to see themselves not as owners of the brand, but as its guardians — “Brand Guardians.”

Philippe Stern once said, “We do not own the business. We are simply caretakers responsible for passing it on.” This is despite the fact that they are, legally speaking, the shareholders and owners of the company.

Honestly, this idea reminds me a lot of holding Bitcoin, HODL. Many Bitcoin holders probably share a similar mindset — that they are merely custodians of their Bitcoin, preserving it for future generations.

Though in my case, I do not even have heirs… so maybe I should just spend it all and stop worrying about the long term. Haha.
