Just as an aside, they want $6K for a replacement and a 3 month lead time. Nooooo, negro

The harbor freight of stealth cloning. My friends would be equally impressed and unimpressed

Now this is useful info, thanks friend!

It's an offline cloning device you can also make your own and it's not supposed to be too difficult but I'm lazy when I have a problem I reach out to the tech Bros lol

Have you ever gotten a bad sector error message? Or have the drive freeze when you've been using the software?

If you don't have any bad sectors and it's damage to the read/write head or something mechanical within the drive as the discs are spinning you should be able to clone the drive sector by sector until you have an exact duplicate. I know you can buy software to do that but a lot of good tech places that do repair should be able to do that for you

I can’t take it to anyone because of the proprietary software. So I’m happy to use the backup with a new drive. I’m going to give it a go and if that fails, spend the money on a new (old) pile of shit

No. I’ve just heard it start clicking when reading. So I did a backup and panicked

That's fucked, is there anybody in your area that can clone your drive? Or another option would be to remove the discs and put them in another. In my instance every ecosystem is different so it requires different software, I know people who have done that fortunately the one time I had a problem they helped me. I can log into a customer's system and see what's happening and troubleshoot most of what is going on before I have to go out there, which is awesome and now I can even do it from my phone which is even better

I’ve backed it all up, but no, it’s completely off net, I’m certain the drive is shitting the bed

Imagine that they were a cartel and you were tampering with their data and trade secrets but it’s legal and worse

Exactly and it doesn't always work the other day I was dealing with a company with an operating system barely out of warranty and I explained to them that I know they had no obligation but since they had a couple of known issues I was hoping they would take care of my customer the rep initially offered me a discount on a new operating system and I thanked him and I told him that my customer wasn't going to be paying a dime and that I would accept the fact they weren't going to stand behind it and I was going to pay and by doing so I would be contacting other companies to purchase a product. They contacted me Friday afternoon and told me that they would solve the problem for me LOL
