A question for artists: why isn't Vernissage better known? Are there barriers I haven't noticed?

Six years ago, I rescued Milka. He was covered in oil, but like every cat, he is the boss now. He gives the kids a good excuse not to make their beds.

I often read kind messages supporting Fedilab, and I am really grateful for them. There are two of us behind the scenes, @nprofile1q... and me.
Some active reporters already know him. He helps me a lot with the Fedilab account, and mostly with his wonderful work on issues.
He listens to you and prioritizes issues on Codeberg, which keeps me from drowning. He even does a gradual rollout of issues so I don't get discouraged :)
Joking aside, a big thank you, Marco, for your valuable contributions

I created a library to use the AIDL service from #CastLab and make things simpler for devs.
It works well, and I integrated it into a local build of #NewPipe for more extensive testing. I was able to cast a live video to #FCast.

Everything will be released soon in 1.7.0.

Just a reminder for people using #Mastodon compatible software: you can add a media description to your profile and header pictures. #Fedilab lets you add them through your profile.

To see descriptions from other accounts, tap their profile or header picture to open it, then tap it again to display the media description.

If you have an app that relies on alternative frontends such as #Invidious, #Nitter and others, it's often hard to maintain a list of instances. I had that problem with #UntrackMe and #CastLab, so a CI job now runs every day to maintain a list of available instances.

I might add support for this to #Fedilab.

Currently DMs no longer work for #Pixelfed with #Fedilab. There was a breaking change in the API. I am waiting to get more details before adding this new behavior to the app. Thanks for your patience.

#Fedilab 3.44.0 has been published!

You can now preview messages before posting. Home filters (long press on the tab) are now also available for local, public and list timelines. This version also includes several fixes, such as large gaps in the home timeline. If you still have issues, a tool lets you share anonymized data to help find what went wrong.

Leaving Google is really a matter of patience. They first told me it was not possible because of UntrackMe, which has been suspended.
Then they asked me to open one ticket per app for GDPR compliance:
- an old version of Fedilab they removed
- a Mobilizon app
- TubeLab
- Fedilab (current version)
And the suspended one, because I can't delete them myself.
They first replied that it needed further investigation, then that I should not open so many tickets while they had asked me to 🤪

#Fedilab 3.43.3 has been published! It mostly brings fixes. The custom MarkDown support no longer breaks the instance formatting. It also fixes some mentions and links not opening inside the app. The lost position when coming back should be fixed for all timelines, including #GoToSocial.
