Working on open source apps is a big challenge. Everything is made possible through your bug reports, your feedback, and also your financial contributions, which is for me the hardest part to talk about. They cover the server costs, and they also help me in my daily life.

If you appreciate my work and can help me on #Liberapay or #Kofi, here are the links. Thank you for your support.

Recently I told you about the offline translator available on #FDroid.
https://f-droid.org/packages/dev.davidv.translator
Currently, translating opens the translator app. The idea is to keep everything inside #Fedilab: the translated text comes straight back into the post, so you never leave the app. You do not even notice it used another app in the background. It is already done in #HolosSocial, and I will add it to Fedilab.

I would like to apologise to people using Fedilab about my recent messages.
The goal is not to impose anything on users. Most features added are helpers that can be turned on.
Asking your opinion allows me to evaluate your expectations, and whether I should go further.
I maybe naively suggested a feature to help, without thinking how it could hurt some of you.

In two days I am taking a whole week off. Before leaving you during that break, I wanted to thank you all for your contributions, your feedback, kind messages and donations.
I am happy to have worked evenly on #Fedilab and #HolosSocial.
And I am pretty proud to offer a new #Fediverse software that is now stable.
All of this was only possible thanks to you. So a huge thank you!

#HolosSocial lets you run your own #ActivityPub server on your device. The goal is to let everyone using AP with a phone or a computer reach full independence, through custom domains and by hosting your media on your own cloud.
This is not a hack of AP (as I have read), everything stays within the spec. The project simply lets you be fully independent. You can reach full independence step by step. And #E2EE DMs already work through AP.

Never forget that #Fedilab is driven only by you. Your suggestions, your reports, your feedback, and your opinion through polls. As a developer I do not impose anything, I step aside and follow what you wish. Fedilab has always been built on your input. And maybe that is what makes it stand apart, and still alive after 9 years. Thank you for that.

Summer is here, and sadly it is peak season for pet abandonment.
#PawFed is a federated map for animal welfare built on #ActivityPub and #OSM.

It already shows shelters and vets near you. Found an abandoned animal or need help? Mention @nprofile1q... from any #Fediverse account: a pin lands on the map, and your call is relayed across the #Fediverse, whatever your instance.

#Fedilab uses #UnifiedPush for push notifications in every version. The Google Play version comes with a built-in distributor that relies on Google, so notifications work right away. The #FDroid version cannot include that built-in distributor, so you need to install a separate one, like #ntfy or #Sunup. Once it is installed and selected in Fedilab, push works the same way. This is why F-Droid users need an extra app while Google Play users do not. This extra step is not specific to Fedilab.
