v1.12.1 — a repair release. Nothing new on screen, one crash gone.

The app could die right after an update, while it was still open. A background job starting Laravel a second time — the one that checks for new messages, or the one that runs queued work — tore down the running engine instead of attaching to it. It never happened on a cold start, only in that window, which is why it looked random rather than reproducible.

Background work now waits for the first boot after an update to finish before it touches anything, instead of racing it.

And the rule that only portal links under /app/ open in the app, while everything else stays in your browser, is no longer a local patch on top of NativePHP — it is part of NativePHP now. Same behaviour, one less thing that can silently fall away on the next update. The build refuses to produce an APK whose manifest disagrees.

v1.12.0 — the direct messages are encrypted now.

The last release brought DMs to the phone and said plainly that they were not encrypted. That is what changed. A conversation between two members leaves as a gift wrap, and the relay only sees an envelope from a key nobody has ever seen.



Nobody sees the content — not even the relay operator. Who writes to whom is visible to other members on a zooid space; on a Buzz space it is not. The app says that on the screen rather than promising more than it holds. The old chat DMs stay exactly as they are with their history — they were never encrypted, so nothing could move over.



You can now hide a person for yourself, without asking a moderator. It hides them in your own chat list and is not a ban.



Also new: PDFs and videos go into the chat, you can mute or star a room from the phone, the next meetup date sits in the room header with an RSVP, and search finds your conversations by name.

v1.11.0 — more of the chat works on the phone now.

A few things only existed in the sidebar on desktop. The app has no sidebar, so on a phone you could only get to them through the search icon. Now they have a real place.

Members are listed right under the space name.



Bookmarks and chat settings are in your profile menu.



Moderators can work from the phone: reports, join requests, roles, invites — and a timed suspension instead of removing or banning someone.



Direct messages now show up in the room list, and you can start one from the phone if the relay supports them. They are not end-to-end encrypted, so keep that in mind.

Also new: bookmark a message, vote on forum topics, let the relay remind you about a message, and see who is online.

v1.9.4 — the Forge, for everyone.

Signing in with Amber now brings you straight back. Until today the handoff stopped at a browser asking whether you really meant to open the app. Verified Android App Links are finally live for release builds, so it simply returns.

The Forge got the treatment the rest of the app already had. Every control on the repository workbench — the tabs, the file tree, the branch picker, the copy buttons — now has a visible focus ring, a name a screen reader can announce, and a target big enough to actually hit. Text sitting on a reversed grey ramp was hard to read in a dozen places; that ramp is fixed. And the three region filters, nameless to assistive tech until now, are labelled.

Small thing you'll notice on a phone: "About" no longer sticks to the tab above it in the repository view.

Underneath: Laravel 13.29, Livewire 4.4, Flux 2.17 and a refreshed dependency set.

v1.9.3 — the reading room opens.

Three new cards on the chat overview put Chat, Articles and Forge side by side, so you can move between them without a detour through Chat first. A link that used to open the wrong tab is fixed too.

The article list can now be searched and sorted.

Opening an article gives you a proper reading view: share it, view images in a lightbox, see how far you've read, and the author sits right alongside. Podcast episodes carry their own badge on the card, with separate links to read the text and to play the episode.

Every author now has their own page, reachable and shareable by a direct link, and author links elsewhere open on media.einundzwanzig.space instead of a third-party app.

Articles show how many zaps, reactions and comments they've collected — counted only from this community's own relay, so the numbers can sit lower than what you'd see elsewhere. That's deliberate: querying wider relays would hand every reader's IP and reading history to strangers. You can also write reactions and leave comments right in the app.

Also in: opening an article no longer flickers through the wrong layout first.

v1.9.2 — the forge moves into your pocket.

Repositories, issues and pull requests live in the app now: open a repo, read the discussion, write an issue, and follow what happened as a timeline that shows days instead of twenty identical year stamps.

Forum channels landed next to them. Your workspace carries topic lists and threads — open a topic, read it, reply to it.

The workspace itself got clearer: member status and channel preferences are visible, the search finds your own messages, and avatars and inline images from the workspace relay finally load.

And a small one that was loud: a chat notification used to open with a hundred characters of nostr:nevent identifier before the actual sentence. It shows the message now.

Also in: seven parked ex-relay domains are out of the routing, your own relay blocklist is loaded at last, every keyboard stop has a visible focus ring, and a deleted room disappears on its own.

The membership gate now leads straight into the joining flow: statutes, application, and the BTCPay checkout for the 21,000 sats annual fee — entirely in-app, signed by your own key. After paying you can close the app: the activation arrives by itself and unlocks rooms and chat.



Search is here: find rooms and messages from what you have loaded — one tap on the search field.



Quotes are cards now, so context stays readable.



Also in: restricted rooms say what they are instead of failing silently, the room header no longer freezes on a wrong hint, the non-member gate tells each person the sentence that is true for them, and contrast got sharper in both themes.
