I think it's weird that most people's workplaces are away from home. it appears so inefficient. even granny says that's weird.

It makes economic sense in most cases, there are some network effects at play too and that makes even more usefull to centralice the workplace.

For example, take a normal street, if for some reason a new business opens up, it wil be more usefull for another related business to open nearby rather than far away. It is also usefull for the existing shop in general. People need to move less while working or doing working related stuff. Where I live, a few blocks away of my neighbour, there are a lot of industry related stores, hardware stores and that kind of stuff, and also several workshops. It makes sense to open a related business in that area even if you are a bit far away, because everyone working in those shops can find what they need in a short radious

You can see the same in otger non related fields, in PC design is usefull to have thing closer, like RAMs close to CPU, the CPU itself is the pinacle of centralization for a reason. In organisms too, the brain for example is all in one place rather than being spread throughout the hole body

I wouldn't say that there is some neferious motive behind that structure, just economics discovering the best way to do stuff. That's my 2 cnets on this 🧉🧐🤔

I'm with you that it is a natural consequence. But still, it doesn't make sense to me. It feels like quality of our relationships and what we consume goes down, bit by bit. Why aren't we nourishing our direct environment and instead run somewhere else for a paycheck I'm not saying, everyone should b...

Not at all, my friend. Your comment is spot on. I don't want to forget that we were coming from 25% monthly inflation.
