#smoking #sirloin 1.4kg sirloin smoked over charcoal and post oak hunks. Drip liner had red wine, beef broth, onion, garlic, bay leaf. Roast started off at 150 and hit 220 for the stall; internal was 125. Seared at 550 for 2 min/side. Drippings are reducing in the grill, cause I stripped my stove top, at 550 until slightly thick.

#smoking #sirloin Unfortunately, it is so terrible that I forbade anyone else from eating it, as I would hate to have anyone else eat it. https://static.noauthority.social/media_attachments/files/116/314/963/359/169/068/original/cc22d723c2f3eca9.jpeg https://static.noauthority.social/media_attachme...

Unions can do that, yes. Particularly in Illinois where it's all just mafia. But I think America's problems go deeper than this. The Americans who are willing and able to do real work and care about ...

The unique issue for American cars is CAFE where making the car larger is easier than compiling with extreme emissions and fuel efficiency standards.

The effect of most of what is happening today won't be know for 10 years.

Yeah, CAFE is one issue. Also you will notice that in America you can't buy a car from anywhere in the world except American colonies: Germany, Japan, Korea. Volvo is an exception, and there are of course the oddball Italian supercars that make it in, but generally speaking anywhere that the US did...

I think EV'S, along with some modern halo ICE offerings, are moving society as a whole into treating cars as just an appliance to be replaced at the first inconvenience. EV'S have to move in an "all in one" battery+frame direction to keep up with range and longevity expectations; unless a hot swap standard, that includes freon and coolant and electric connections, is soon achieved.

Here's a video with someone else's thoughts on the matter.

Yeah, this is a real problem, and I'm not sure there's any real incentive to stop it. IMO it's not specifically the fault of EVs, but rather that as reliability improves, people stop caring about repairability. Even back in the 80s when they started cramming everything under the hood, timing chains...
