Interesting, that Gustave Eiffel built a neighbouring bridge.
Famous for Paris's Eiffel Tower πΌ and for designing Statue of Liberty π½ he had another major architectural project - Maria Pia bridge π. It is carrying the Lisbon to Porto railway across the river Douro.
