Hi, I run the fedi.jameuwu.com FireFish instance. I'm a privacy enthusiast who has a general distaste for companies that love to steal my data and/or money (all of them). So I try to black pill people on open source software and easily moddable hardware, because you shouldn't have to be a product. One day I plan to make the software I recommend to people.

For reference, this is something that literally just happened to me and I am genuinely so frustrated with the whole ordeal. It's no wonder people just use proprietary slop when the alternative is some smug assholes project who doesn't care about your usecase enough to even tell you to your face he doesn't care.

I'm not sure. I don't use Mastodon, I actually use a fork of Misskey. I kind of gave up trying to figure out how to make it use the domain instead of the subdomain, it felt like it would be hard for me lol. If you figure it out though let me know! I'd be interested in trying to see if I could make it work for myself 😃
