torvalds in his email makes the same bad-faith argument as a lot of other sloptimists when he says "fear of new tools," a construction designed to imply anyone who isn't pro-slop is some kind of weak coward.

"fear" is not the emotion I and many others experience regarding large language models. the word you're looking for is "contempt." when you make this sort of argument, my contempt extends from your tools to your personality.
