For any Nashville bike folks here, we’re going to do a pedal to the polls on Saturday 7/25 (meet up starting at 1:30pm, wheels up 2pm). This is early voting for the August 6th election. I need to figure out what congressional district I’m even in now before then, thanks to the latest ridiculous gerrymandering. We had a small group for the last primary ride and it still totally made the day of the poll workers. #BikeTooter #nashville

Plan is to take our bikes across the Potomac after 8:30 tonight and find a spot along the river to watch fireworks. Usually we can just walk to the Mall, but the entire fucking thing is blocked off.

@nprofile1q... I was wondering about this bc my spouse & I were just talking about the year we went to DC for the 4th & sitting right next to the reflecting pool for the fireworks. It was amazing. But the photos make it look like all of that is blocked off?
My greatest regret is they didn't have Trapper Keepers when I was in school.

Continuing to dive into our “wait, that was fun, why haven’t we played it lately?!?” cache of games. Tonight: Foundations of Rome. We play tested this back in (2019? 2018?) at GenCon. The Kickstarter was a mess, it ended up caught up in pandemic manufacturing/shipping issues so it arrived in 2022. It’s GIANT - probably one of the biggest boxes on our shelves. Really fun game overall. Cool concept. Plays fast. Good balance across players. We haven’t played it that much, not sure why. #BoardGames

Due to a very busy spring, it’s been a while since we’ve had a chance for a good board games day, but we fixed that today! Played Tang Garden (last played in 2021), Finspan (first play), & Above & Below: Haunted (played a few months ago). Tang Garden is visually very pretty but I’d pick Tea Garden over it anytime for game play. Finspan was ok but making Wingspan simpler takes away the links to nature. Enjoyed Above & Below the most, really refines Ryan Laukat’s story-game approach. #BoardGames
