I’ve had this happen where authors really wanted to narrate their own works and I honestly wish they did not, but her name has appeared on my TBR before so I am eager to give her another/a chance! I can’t remember what series of hers I read in the past, but I think it had a major character death early on in the series and that’s when I lost interest, but I can’t remember what series that is. I do remember that the series you mentioned has really fantastic Aromantic and Asexual representation also

@nprofile1q... This! I would honestly love to read more fantasy books where the main character quite literally turns their back on our world because the fantasy world is better. If you haven’t read the book above, I would highly recommend it. I felt like it was vastly too short, but it’s a really great read! It’s from the point of view of the brother who never goes to the fantasy world in question which makes his brother‘s reluctance to be home again all the more impactful
