I mean, it's RIGHT THERE in the AI drawings, SPECIFICALLY pointing out that A. the thing is oval for reasons & B. the top screws on & off.

It looks so real & it looks so convincing but it's utterly fake & the technology is specifically designed to override your common & critical sense. Do not use.

Welp - since search basically everywhere has turned into "I see your suggestion in my input field, but how about I show you a shitload of stuff entirely unrelated to it?" it just occurred to me that the young folks out there probably don't even realize that originally, a search field was for entering the thing you wanted to find *and then the engine would present you with that thing* if at all possible & if it wasn't, it would just tell you that.

BTW this is also evidence that Ed Zitron is right about the abysmal economics of this bubble - like, we just saw the most ardent AI boosters go from "Use AI for everything, always" to "Oops, let's not do that" inside of a single week due to vendors having to frantically abandon the standard tech growth model of giving away their product for free until users are locked in, because even with trillion-dollar investments the product is simply too expensive...

Also, I truly don't understand what people get out of this... at least several times a week somebody on the metro is doing this & since there's no privacy during rush hour I can see that neither party on the call is remotely framed by the camera, let alone framed usefully or pleasingly, unless half a forehead or a view straight up the nostrils, usually against a nondescript ceiling, has somehow become trendy or a sign of endearment...

How is this in any way better than a regular phone call?
