I know I just started here, but the same is going to be true for all my social media. I can't help but feel the effect of the approval seeking and searching for accolades and praise from posting my artwork online. I don't disparage any artists that do post online, but for me it became too much of a consideration in the process of creation.

I want to create paintings that portray the beauty that I see around me every day. I have no mind for marketing or promotion and I'm not looking for fame or fortune. I won't stop painting, but I think that I will stop posting it.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me for the past week or so. I will stay on this platform and I hope it grows into something beautiful and wonderful.

I had a great time painting out at Vasquez Rocks on the weekend. I tried to record the painting processs but unfortunately the video file was corrupted. C'est la vie.

Mastercopy of Joaquin Sorolla, one of my absolute favorites. His perception and expression of color is insane!

This is a digital painting I did based on a photo I took while walking around alone in Japan late at night. I love exploring foreign cities and small towns when it's still and silent. I tried to evoke that feeling in this painting.

This was also a stylistic experiment of using only simplified hard-edge shapes with airbrushed light.
