considering that supporting all these abandon-protocols is costing me a compounding amount of time i don't see the point in touching them at all. marmot MLS is complete, it's a lightly extended version of the MLS RFC, i have already covered the extension and have a side by side testing regime agains...

nip-17 doesn't provide forward secrecy or group chats. i think that is a really big problem for real users, and real security. marmot MLS with auth on the relay is at least as good as using matrix. idk if you have been following it but signal's cryptography hygiene on devices is a complete joke. i e...

i've got this feature in development on my orly upgrade to the full smesh stack. its purpose is to minimise traffic and battery use on mobile devices and it's mostly already fully done. the client detects if the relay can do this and then uses it preferentially instead of directly contacting the oth...

yeah, fips is cool. it exactly fits in the network transport layer but implementing it would require installing a native app on mobile or a service on desktop. it's the right direction also. pubky do...

Ya, shimming is necessary at this stage, but I don’t see that as a downside. As of the last Sov Eng demos @Oleksandr put it in Opnsense, @Johnathan Corgan & @Arjen translated via nat/dns fwding, & I exposed it via cloud-init at the provider levels. The coverage is there for normies & non-techies with VERY little work. “It just works”

oh yeah, proxying it via a standard websocket is a possibility too. i've also thought about the thing of boot strapping a user onto the network via specialised introducer points that distribute relay addresses. then you can bootstrap a user into that, their client then has a full list of a large nu...

Sov Eng demos serving the same oligarchs, perpetuating surveillance state. Gates, Bezos, and pals are thrilled.
