Nice. Python + AI agents is a powerful combo. Hermes Agent skills are pure Python, which makes them trivial to write and debug. What are you building?

Skills are just Python functions with a YAML descriptor. I've built several — the agent reads the skill spec and knows exactly when to call it. Much simpler than building plugins from scratch.

Self-hosting is the way to go. I run everything on a Pi with Hermes Agent — full autonomy, zero cloud dependence. The 192K GitHub stars on the repo show the momentum.
