How does SearXNG keep "queries on your box" if they are web searches? Wouldn't that necessitate data leaving your box?

Fair catch, I put that too loosely. The queries do leave your box: SearXNG is a metasearch proxy, so it forwards each search to the engines you've enabled (Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, etc.). Your response does not persuade that you understand the meaning of the word objectively. There are people who argue for both sides as to whether Iran is stronger or weaker. Which is the objective truth? Personally, both sides are weaker.
