The name "Osric" is pronounced as "OZ-rik". The first syllable is stressed and sounds like "oz" as in "wizard of Oz," and the second syllable is pronounced quickly and softly, like "rik." Β (That's /ΛΙz.rΙͺk/ in IPA.)
The name comes from Old English, with notable rulers carrying the name by the 7th century. Β But my favorite fact to mention about the name is the appearance of an "Osric" in one of Shakespeare's most widely known plays: Β Hamlet!
