After using so many Android devices, I can confidently say that there is nothing quite like GrapheneOS.

It is simply incredible.

You use [email protected]. What's the rational? Privacy seems pretty weak? Can you tell us how you treat this?

Desktop Linux isn't secure by default. Most apps aren't strongly sandboxed, plenty of packages have broad access to your files and session, and a lot of the actual security comes down to how you configure things.

You can harden it with full-disk encryption, sandboxed apps, SELinux or AppArmor, and regular updates. But treat it as a system you can make more secure, not one that's automatically secure.

What’s amazing about Linux is how much control you have over it.

It’s weird having been in the privacy space for some time and thinking back to when everyone thought caring about privacy was strange.

You were the weird one if you used privacy products. It was always the same argument: “What are you hiding?”

Now, with the rise of digital surveillance, people have become more aware of the dangers that come with not protecting their privacy.

That’s why the privacy space has always said: “It’s not about hiding. It’s about protecting what we have.”

It's cool to see how many people have started genuinely caring about their privacy after governments began pushing heavily for age verification and VPN bans. It's very validating to know that people care.
