Congratulations! Quit smoking was your best choice. I lost my father because of that. He had lung cancer.
I lost both parents and my youngest brother (12/28/2024) to cancer. Root cause probably smoking... My son (41) was diagnosed with testicular cancer in his early twenties but "cured" 13 years ago. Four weeks ago, Josh was again diagnosed with cancer. This time it's Stage 4 colon cancer that has metastasized to his liver. He just completed his first round of chemotherapy.
Today's technology is much better than 20 years ago but still the human struggle is just that, a struggle. Family, friends and community support are vital.
Words are inadequate but silence is worse. To all who have lost loved ones, I too am sorry for your losses.
