it makes me sad that i grew up all my life with the core knowledge that Nazis are bad.... and that seemed to be a universally held - and upheld - truth.

But then everyone got addicted to social media platforms and now it's fine if those companies pay Nazis to post rage bait. People will just keep scrolling anyway.

The northern hemisphere is literally on fire from North America, to Europe, to Russia from the the Mediterranean and California Coasts to the Arctic.

@nprofile1q... then you know that this is an active shipping lane protected by the Russian navy. Pretty clearly a valid military target. Just as it would be if the Iranian ship was docked at a Russian port. If Iran doesn’t want its ships and seamen in harm’s way, then they can stop going to Russia.

@nprofile1q... Iran supplying Russia with military hardware through the Caspian Sea (and vice versa) is well documented over many years since Russia’s occupation of Crimea and eventual full invasion. Here’s one report from 2024 at the ISW. The Caspian is the most direct and safe link between Iran and Russia.

At least it was until Ukraine developed the capability to reach these distances.

AlJazeera reports that this was a convoy escorted by Russian naval ships. So while we should double check the military cargo, not even Iran is disputing that it was military cargo. As far as international law, this would be fully justified.
