okay but actually, there's someone that vibe codes all their OC stuff and it's the most dogshit software I've ever seen

they've managed to create an OOP hell in Lua, it's absurdly verbose, you've got constant repetition without reuse, data structures that are nonsense

a script kiddie would do better. and they have the gall to shittalk anyone else's stuff

> I eventually contacted Alpha Micro directly through their current website to see what they might have still in stock, or if they had a VAR to recommend for parts. By this point Alpha Microsystems and its remaining IP had been sold to a private consortium and reconstituted as Alpha Microsystems LLC, with the original California business entity ceasing to exist, and it was this new Alpha Micro that I conversed with. I got to spend a couple pleasant hours doing a phone interview with one of AM LLC's principals, which I used to update the website and reported on in our prior entry, and he referred me to a longtime Alpha Micro vendor that they still partner with for existing installations. It took a few months, but this vendor was able to locate what appeared to be another E300 with working boards and we negotiated a price and getting it shipped.
this is fascinating because of the implications; old proprietary computer systems end up like defunct car manufacturers, you have companies that exist to service products of a company that folded years ago, buying up anything that people upgrade away from, selling it to existing customers, presumably combing ebay and such,
