@nprofile1q... I teach in a telecommunications engineering degree. But frankly, 98% of our graduates are hired to do software work and will never design a coms system. This causes a extreme difference between the skills that we teach them in the curriculum and the habits that their first boss tells them to acquire. When I have had to mentor returning students I have found that working on software made them not only unused to engineering, but actually *condescending* against it.
