That's a lazy strawman. Authoritarian interests that go against basic humanity control the government and the technical competence comes from corporations.

In the age of the internet, there isn't a need for a storefront that charges 20-30% such as Amazon or App stores. All people and businesses need is discoverability, internet money, and (for physical goods) a form of escrow. The infrastructure has to be built though, and it is looking like it will be Nostr.
