I dunno about that last bit: around here, depending upon temperature and humidity, you're still going to get sweaty, even on an e-bike. But a micropore camp towel and a handy restroom sink can get you cleaned up pretty well.

He's totally correct about the first part: an e-bike flattens the earth, which is transformative.

Current pondering on replacing Roku

- a small media computer running linux
- running a browser with a few tabs open
- each tab logged into a subscribed stream (AppleTV, PBS, youtube, etm.)
- a small wifi keyboard w/ trackpad for a controller, to select content, start/stop/pause
- the TV acts as a monitor, with it's controller used for on/off, volume, etm.

Would happily go with a FOSS USB device and a handheld controller to do the same.

I see some are again questioning the value of demonstrations and protests. Here's why I make the effort and add one more body to the crowd:

- It might be the thing that encourages/motivates someone else to participate, or call their congressional reps.

- Crowds help congressional reps. find their courage.

- I believe a general strike is needed; I believe the road to a general strike runs through massive protests first.

Reasonable people could come together to find a way to enforce immigration law, and create a process for migrants, asylum seekers, and refugees, to come and go, without brutalizing people of color.

That's not what this is.

@nprofile1q... The situation is indeed grave, and the gravity of it is being minimized by much of the major US media (NYT, WP, etc.). The Trump administration can fairly be called "lawless." Its representatives basically claim now that might makes right.

There is resistance, some of it organized, regional, and it is peaceful, so far. We know that violent resistance only would be used as a pretext by the regime.

Foreign countries should isolate and boycott the US.

SCOTUS, with its unitary executive theory, has created a situation in which, if voters desire clean air, water, and health, protected by federal agencies, they now MUST vote for Democrats, including for president. Otherwise the agencies carrying out these functions simply will be dismantled by GOP/MAGA, their leadership replaced with zealots intent on destruction of the commons.

The end goal is painfully obvious: reduce the population by eliminating the "unhealthy," defined as anyone who doesn't continue to survive; increase the "unhealthy" by eliminating public health measures.

It's a cull. Impeach #RFKJr. before we return to pre-18th century child mortality rates.
