Is everything political?

Sometimes at the coffee shop where I’m a regular, other regulars see me and come talk to me at the communal table where I usually sit. They refer to me as “the #Bitcoin girl.” Sometimes they don’t even like Bitcoin , but they still seem interested in what I have to say.

One of these regulars is a 70-year-old man who’s somewhat involved in decisions about how the province’s pension funds are spent. He’s read the white paper and is intrigued enough to observe from the sidelines. But he doesn’t get the ethos of Bitcoin, and he can’t let go of the belief that everything is political.

My respect and appreciation go to Bitcoiners who have these conversations on a daily basis, trying to orange-pill people on the political or ideological plane. I mean — good luck.

I asked him:

“Do you believe the nature of reality is probabilistic or deterministic?”

“It’s a collection of probabilities.”

There you go.

If you believe the nature of reality is probabilistic, think about the course of your life’s events. The timing. The sequence. The factors beyond our control working out the way they do — for better for worse.

Where should we place ourselves amongst all this?
I’m puzzled and fascinated by it daily.

I get where he’s coming from. We live in a world where everything has been politicized — mostly for the worse, where it's been used as rhetoric to manipulate sentiment, create conflict and division, built on control and fear.

Everything is political?

If you ask me: politics is fiat. Never forget.

The way I see it, reality is complex and always layered. While we can never see all the layers with our naked human eyes, some of us see more layers than others, and operate on layers deeper than others.

Money is more base-layer than politics.
(This is what a true bitcoiner gets. The reason it doesn’t seem that way is because money and the state are not separated.)

Love is more base-layer than money.
Which is why love is more base-layer than even Bitcoin.

What is the primary filter you’re putting on your life?

How would you feel if your loved ones prioritized their political views over you and your relationship? If they neglected their children for massive ego contests and power struggles, fueled by fear and trauma — why?

But hey — who am I to tell you to prioritize love?
I’m merely a hopeless romantic.

💯

Starting by imagining our perfect day, implement what we can already + slowly working towards that day.

It comes down to enjoying each moment and be rather evenly present.
