As time passes I’m increasingly convinced that #nostr is heading down the path of failed experiment.
I've felt this way for a while now (sometimes, not always feel this way). It's funny the mascot is an ostrich, the one who sticks its head in the ground.
The reason I stay though is because legacy media is so much worse and there is signal here and zaps are cool asf.
But If nostr is too succeed that would be amazing...
Honestly thinking about it RN in the age of autonomous AI bots using Bitcoin, vibe coding, and the very real possibility that many if not most of the people working today might be out of a job in the next 5 years, there will be lots of smart people with lots of time on their hands and many others looking to monitize anything they (or their agents) can do. Combined this with growing number of bitcoiners as well as growing number of people fed up with legacy Internet platforms ...well V4V on nostr might actually make sense in that scenario.
Lightning network suffered from the same chicken and egg problem before it didn't. Nobody used lightning because nobody accepted it. Nobody accepted it because nobody used it plus it was a busted user experience. People use lightning now but it's still kinda niche.
Whatever I'm rambling. Nostr has issues, but I'm not fucking leaving .
