Was going to wait a bit but no better time than the present. I get no value out of this place or bitcoin twitter anymore. Deleting the socials. It's been fun I guess, going to focus on building.

Peace.

The number one thing I learned building a product is that people do not know how to read.

That is completely reinforced by people's inability to read product shutdown announcements too and coming up with their own conclusions in their heads. It's wild.

People should become attached to the code and not the developers. You did what you said you would, you didn’t sign a contract for life. The code is open source and is still there for anyone who is interested.

I appreciate every one of you who has helped us get this far and for the words of encouragement.

From my perspective, it's not a sad day at all. There's a lot of relief in this months-long resolution.

I have many thoughts about my burnout in this space that I'll save for a future personal blog post.

For now, I'll say that I'm grateful to have met some of the best people in this space and in this world.

Thank you.

Going to be using Creatr exclusively for awhile, and keep most of my content behind one of the tiers there: https://creatr.nostr.wine

Really cool to see how much as been built up over there. It doesn't work with every Nostr client but luckily they have their own site for it to help bootstrap the adoption of subscriptions and paywalls. I believe any client that supports AUTH will allow you to subscribe, add the creatr relay ( wss://creatr.nostr.wine ) and see my content.

This feels so nice.

Paid for a group of friends to see Monkey Man later today and just told everyone to zap me. No invoices, no sending everyone payment details, no need to be online, just "zap me"

Lots of trust, no verifying here.

Especially if you're on damus, the client that only trusts. Relays should periodically send invalid signature events back towards clients with the message:

"THE APP YOU ARE USING IS BROKEN, PLEASE INFORM THE DEV"

Might do this with blastr.
12❤️8😂2👍1💣1🔥1🤙1
Derek Ross · 104w
Yes! More clients need to verify.
Terry Yiu · 104w
Not a bad idea. Chaos engineering. I wonder if there’s a way to crowdsource relay trust status. e.g. if you find an event on a relay that has an invalid signature, you broadcast a kind to all your relays that indicates that this relay can’t be trusted. People or clients who deem your pubkey as ...
pleb · 104w
A side effect of shaming devs into doing this is not only will users bitch about high bandwidth consumption, now they'll also bitch about terrible battery life. Do we all really need every shitpost we download from our home relay to be cryptographically verified?
