@nprofile1q... My wife and I built 2 identical PCs for us late 2024. We paid 480 € for our 4 x 32 GB DDR5-6000 RAM.

That RAM now costs 2400 €, nearly what both PCs cost *combined* back then.

@nprofile1q... I probably used mine for around 15-20ish years as well. Had them warranty repaired several times and ended up getting I think 4 pairs total. I also have a pair of custom made Peltor hearing protectors with Porta Pro elements in them. :D

But a few years ago due to office noise I switched to over-ear Audio-Technica ATH-M50x first and then to Sennheiser Momentum 4 noise canceling. Now my Porta Pros just wait in the desk drawer.

@nprofile1q... Been writing practically only Gleam on my free time since 2023. Small web apps like https://estimated-done.ahlcode.fi or my home's solar monitor, and a some packages for the ecosystem. Had a music player PWA too, though that's now deprecated. My blog is Gleam generated.

The community is very nice and helpful. Lustre is an awesome tool in the ecosystem. As a small language there's still packages that are missing.

New project be a full stack Gleam service with passkey authentication.

@:blank: I have a Jottacloud account right now, they have file sync only via their own client. So I suppose I'd have to write the snapshots to files that the service would then sync. Not really the best choice when I think I'd have to write full snapshots every once in a while for safety. I'd probably need to look for a different cloud storage provider.

@nprofile1q... My UI language is English (US) and date & time format is "Inherit from operating system". I'm using Ubuntu with GNOME and in the Date & Time settings the only relevant setting that I can see is 24 hour time. Right now the "Long Date" in Vivaldi settings says "Wednesday 14. Januarytpm 2026 16.31.34".
