If #Bitcoin can be killed because of unmarshalled bytes, it will be. Knots won't fix that.
It can be killed this way and that’s what bip110 fixes temporarily until we can do something more permanent.
Unserialized data is just bytes. It must be marshalled into an understood data type. Nodes should not attempt to deserialize bytes in ways it doesn't care about.
Do you think the congress or senate would publicize it that way? How would you explain it to friends and family?
Knots #bip110 will stop zero spam because spammers will simply pivot to another of the myriad of ways #Bitcoin allows arbitrary bytes to be packaged in blocks.
What is the solution if a rogue miner puts a horrendous image on the chain.

I like how you posted earlier it’s a litmus test. Exactly. It has dawned on me that core30 was a real takeover and centralization of Bitcoin. As we ramp up to August it will just get more and more interesting to see everyone’s cards. This is the biggest war in bitcoin history and yet it’s been shushed - shows you how much plebs don’t control the narrative but rather the special interests. Very concerning but it seems like bip110 will win.
