Good morning, NOSTR Friends! I hope you’re well. The sun is above the horizon, and it will be 65 degrees today. The Weather Channel says to expect rain between noon and 5PM.

So we’ve gotten a lot of rain over the past two days!

We had water in the basement Tuesday, and I got it pumped out. Then, it rained yesterday. A lot! I stayed up overnight watching/checking the basement pump periodically throughout Wednesday night. Water continued to rise in basement despite the pump working all through the night.

Somehow the dehumidifier tipped on its side. I heard it try many times to come on, but it did not stay on. I hope it still lives. (Logic says it should be dead, but it isn’t my nature to be too pessimistic…or, apparently, realistic… We shall see!)

I hope my freezer still lives. It is on 6” of concrete blocks, and is on high-ish ground (for the basement).

I prayed throughout the night that the rain would stop and that the pump would be able to catch/keep up with the water coming in the basement. But it seems I was answered with a “No”. We have better than 8” of water on the basement floor.

I am eagerly waiting for the rain to cease, (Weather Channel app says it should e done soon - for today and tomorrow…) and that the temps outside to get into the mid/high-60’s. Then I’ll open the windows and let the warm air in!

I’ll be calling someone to inspect/snake out the floor drain/tile in our basement. It has been open/working great for the 12 year we’ve owned the place.
