So we’ve gotten a lot of rain over the past two days!

We had water in the basement Tuesday, and I got it pumped out. Then, it rained yesterday. A lot! I stayed up overnight watching/checking the basement pump periodically throughout Wednesday night. Water continued to rise in basement despite the pump working all through the night.

Somehow the dehumidifier tipped on its side. I heard it try many times to come on, but it did not stay on. I hope it still lives. (Logic says it should be dead, but it isn’t my nature to be too pessimistic…or, apparently, realistic… We shall see!)

I hope my freezer still lives. It is on 6” of concrete blocks, and is on high-ish ground (for the basement).

I prayed throughout the night that the rain would stop and that the pump would be able to catch/keep up with the water coming in the basement. But it seems I was answered with a “No”. We have better than 8” of water on the basement floor.

I am eagerly waiting for the rain to cease, (Weather Channel app says it should e done soon - for today and tomorrow…) and that the temps outside to get into the mid/high-60’s. Then I’ll open the windows and let the warm air in!

I’ll be calling someone to inspect/snake out the floor drain/tile in our basement. It has been open/working great for the 12 year we’ve owned the place.

One thing to check is if you have a Willows, Poplars or scrub Maples or similarly invasive trees with aggressive root systems in the vicinity of your line outside. I’m finding that Claude is my go-to AI. I also use Chat GPT. Both are helpful. But I find the “free” time runs out way too fast. One thing I did with Claude - I spec’d out that I wanted Claude to create a day trading class/handbook for me to learn how to read charts and teach me how to trade stocks profitably within 30 days. I don’t know if the goal is attainable, given the student has an impaired memory.

But I found the results interesting. Claude did what I asked - compiled illustrations, links to helpful YouTube videos presented by SME’s, compiled quizzes. I’m interested to see what the next ver of Claude can do!

I think I see a Claude subscription in my future…

A little back story, if you have a sec…

I was healthy, working my dream job in IT. I woke up one morning to find I couldn’t walk straight. Kept stumbling. Ended up in the hospital (life flighted) and woke up to someone telling me I had 6x mini strokes. My vision and memory were affected & I can’t drive/ work.

I always looked down on people who needed public assistance. Now that is how we eat. Anyway…I’m thankful to be alive and able to walk/enjoy my family. God provides, and I am thankful. I got to retire before age 50! LOL

Hello, NOSTR Friends! I hope you’re well. I am sitting outside enjoying the breeze and listening to the birds sing.

It is a breezy 67 degrees out here, and the birds are singing.

I’ve seen at least four trains go by today - two of them had a lot of empty car-carriers. I imagine they must be off to pick up a couple loads of new vehicles to take to dealerships.

How is your day? Are you crossing things off your to-do list?
