Genuine question, so a dice cup is a no go? Some point I need to sit down and do more research about paper wallets and dice rolls and the like. Just really not interested in rugging myself lol
There are far more ways of rugging yourself through dice rolls.
Don’t hop on what these retards say.
Use 24-12 approach if you are really worried:
1) let the device generate 24 words seeds
2) use coinflips/ dice rolls to generate 12 word passphrase. This can be done totally offline. You can use bip39 diceware, print that out.
3) By this method you will generate an additional entropy of 132 bits. Which will make your wallet in hackable. Just remember to back up both on 2 different seed plate.
4) Go for the best hardware provider, don’t be stuck in open source bullshit. Go for someone who gives you larger screen and allows that big passphrase.
5) If you think this approach isn’t good for you, just buy a hardware wallet that’s like in top 5 ( ledger, trezor, bitbox) and let it generate the seed. The randomness generated via these hardware wallets are far more better.
6) If you think that open source solves this type of bug, you are wrong. You will always need to trust a company a bit. Even a company is open source, if they really wanted to fuck you up, they can create a backdoor in their hardware.
So it’s better to choose a brand that takes the security of their wallet seriously.
