@nprofile1q... See, the violence doesn't really bother me that much. Most of it, at least on the surface, makes sense from Carl's POV. If you're fighting for your life and your species existence, you probably do some bad things along the way.

I just started 4 (finished 3 this evening), and what still bothers me is that the stakes are so low. Even when Carl was fighting a god, he had an invulnerability potion that lasted just long enough for him to be saved. I want some stakes, some tension.
