Dude… calm down it’s just funny.

Right. I'm to be dismissed. Pointing out the slippery slope and the temptations that immerge when these foundations are laid improperly and fortified with humor and dogma is just me needing to calm down. There is absolutely nothing to learn. You have nothing that you need to purge. You're good... You're funny... I'm not "calm"...right... 👍... Labeling the other person that presents a point as "not calm" or "impervious to humor" is definitely a temptation... But we all know it is lazy.

Do better... The kids will do better.

And one more. This topic is inflammatory because... It leads to the rabbit hole of trying to figure out if you yourself are forgiven! It leads to the question of if you yourself have repented from that same old sin that comes up again and again! It leads to you asking yourself how much effort have YOU made to offer restitution! That is a very scary place to go for MANY MANY people who go around preaching that they have been "forgiven"

And furthermore if it is earned, then it should be paid seven times seventy times. We are to pay what is owed.

Forgiveness for the same offense multiple times is a contradiction. Because if the same offense is being committed then repentance hasn't happened. So whatever you preach to have passed out over and over again for the same transgression is not forgiveness! Call it what you will.

Christianity is the only culture that says to forgive your enemies.

Forgiveness is not a switch you flip. It is impossible to forgive someone for stabbing you while they are still stabbing you. Repentance is necessary before forgiveness can be paid. Any statement to the contrary (saying you've forgiven the unrepentant) is bearing false witness. Closure is not the same as forgiveness. As a matter of fact, not even a deity can forgive the unrepentant. It is referred to as the unforgivable sin. As in "not able to be forgiven!!"

This topic has been extremely perverted. I cannot tell for sure but this post seems to have innuendo that I am supposed to give this valuable token (forgiveness ) to those who have not earned it for themselves or accepted the restitution step that was paid by Christ.

Repentance... Confession... Restitution... Then Forgiveness.

People think pride is a sin, but it depends. Pride from exalting the self, feeling superiority over others, claiming glory for oneself is absolutely sinful. But loving what god has entrusted to yo...

Pride is an involuntary reaction to your actions that you perceived as virtuous. Example: if you believe honesty or hard work are virtues (thru your own logic and reasoning and not thru something like dogma) then you will not help but be proud if you are honest or hard working even when tempted to be dishonest and lazy.

When you align the action of your body with the thoughts of your mind then you have feelings about that. You can't hide from yourself. If your actions are misaligned with your thoughts then you can't hide from yourself either. You may be able to fool others but you can't fool yourself.
